Ofsted Result

We are delighted to announce that in April 2018 we have once again been rated good with outstanding features by Ofsted.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for many settings to maintain their ratings unless they are continually striving to improve.  We have been told that our provision is good as is our leadership and management.  We have also been told that the contribution of our provision to personal development, behaviour and welfare is outstanding.

Here is a brief summary of some of the inspector’s findings.

  • The inspector was impressed with the way we help children to become independent in preparation for school and how we help them to develop a ‘can do’ attitude, persevering when they are trying something new.
  • The report highlights how the children ‘settle quickly’, ‘behave exceptionally well’ and are ‘extremely happy at preschool’.  The inspector also commented on how engaged they are in their learning and that they make good progress from their respective starting points.
  • We are particularly happy that this has been recognised as we feel it is a very important part of our role in early years teaching to help the children become active, inquisitive and confident learners in preparation for their transition into the primary years and beyond.
  • We have been informed that our teaching is good, particularly in respect of the learning experiences we provide for children to make good progress in maths and literacy.  It was recognised how they develop early pre-reading skills, acquire good concentration and listening skills and that they gain “excellent social skills for their future life and the eventual move on to school”.
  • How we observe, assess and track both individual and groups of children’s learning to ensure all children are progressing well and how we plan next steps activities that ‘capture children’s interests’ was also highlighted as one of our strengths.
  • The inspector was particularly impressed with our use of areas both inside and outside that create exciting and inviting spaces for learning.
  • As this is our first inspection in our new premises we are pleased to see that our work to create quality results in both our learning environments and the daily experiences we provide for the children has been recognised.  As with all moves to new premises, this inspection has been treated as if it was our first with no account being made for our past two good inspections.  We have taken this as a positive endorsement of how we are performing today and how we can continue to develop our future.

We would like to thank all the parents who took time out of their day on the day of the inspection to talk to the Ofsted inspector.  This was very much appreciated.  We received some wonderful feedback about our relationships with you and your children.

If you have any queries, concerns or comments to make regarding our inspection, please feel free to speak to us about it.
