Our Preschool children having fun

We have spent our first term ‘settling in’. The preschool children are already confident with independently accessing the different resources both inside and out.  We have seen some great paintings, play dough creations and ‘sticky’ pictures!  Following an inquisitive question at snack time – “where does bread come from?” the children have produced their own bread.  We have also been busy making crowns for our princesses and headwear for our knights and Superheroes.  The good weather has allowed us to spend much of our time outdoors mastering the bikes and scooters and building sand castles.  We have been planting our flowers and herbs and watering them almost daily!

This term we have welcomed some new children and have more fun activities planned.  Following our observations of the children last term we have chosen to set up the role play area as a shop.  We will be looking at different types of shops in the coming weeks and role playing with money.  This is also a good opportunity to talk about turn taking & working together in our role play.  This week the children are enjoying the ‘post office’ where they have been producing letters and cards and wrapping parcels.
