Drafting Harry

There are a few reasons why we chose the name Hedgehogs for our new pre-school and after school club in Hambrook. Mainly we opted for it because we wanted a name that connects with nature and the forest schools sessions that children will benefit from here. We also felt that it would complement Hambrook Primary School who group children into four houses; foxes, badgers, squirrels and rabbits. The name “Hambrook Hedgehogs” also has an attractive ring to it we think.

In the past few weeks we’ve been working on a hedgehog mascot for the pre-school to help children relate to Hambrook Hedgehogs and to be a character on our website and elsewhere. The mascot will be called Harry Hedgehog and will be designed to be appealing to both boys and girls.

We’re getting close to a final version which we will be revealing in the coming days. In the meantime we thought we’d present just a few of the draft Harrys that our artist Malcolm has been working on.

Please keep re-visiting this website in the coming days to find out what Harry Hedgehog will eventually look like.
