After School Club Update

We have spent the first few weeks of the new term settling back into our routines and welcoming some new children. We have been delighted with how well the new reception children have taken to after school club and how well they behave when being escorted into Hambrook Hedgehogs. We have also been impressed with how the older children have helped to look after the younger ones.

We have been able to purchase a den frame for indoors from our collection of Tesco vouchers and this has been placed in the after school club room where it has been covered in different fabrics. The soft cushions inside the den provide an oasis for reading, DS playing and quiet chats with friends.

We are continuing to spend as much time outside as possible before the dark nights set in. The children have enjoyed the addition of the play house at the end of the garden which they have also been using as a den for chatting with friends and also as a space for drawing etc.

Next term we are aiming to provide further opportunities for baking and cooking. We will also be providing a variety of festive craft materials to get ourselves into the festive spirit.

Our planned activities are led by ideas and requests from the children and we will be encouraging some of our newer members to talk to us about what they would most like to do during after school time.
