A Selection of Activities from Term Four

To celebrate World Book Day we joined in with other Early Years Settings across South Gloucestershire who were holding a "Big Read" and looked at Kipper stories by Mick Inkpen.

Thank you to everyone who brought in their Mick Inkpen books - we had a lovely selection to choose from and managed to read lots of them through the course of the day!

Our solar eclipse models! We couldn't miss this rare event and marked it by making these.

We carefully cut out the "sun" and "moon", then fixed the sun onto the paper and attached the moon by a thread so that it could be moved into different positions in front of the sun.

We read "Whatever Next" and this prompted us to have a try at making our own rockets - although these were a bit smaller than bear's rocket in the story and we didn't quite make it up the chimney and to the moon in ours!!

We made our own Easter nests using scrunched up paper bags as a base to keep everything in place and then a selection of natural materials to make the nest itself. The Easter chicks looked quite comfortable on their nests!
