Beccy Lo

Pre-School Deputy Leader and Admissions Manager

After completing my BA (Hons) degree I moved to Bristol to complete a secretarial course and worked in this field for a number of years before starting a family.

I began helping at the local toddler group when my children were small and when my eldest child moved onto pre-school I became a regular parent helper and committee member.  It was here that I became actively involved in the running of pre-school provision and enjoyed learning about childcare and development in these settings.  I also spent time as a voluntary classroom assistant for key stage 1 at my children’s school.

Since 2005, when my youngest child started school I have been working in a pre-school setting, dealing with all aspects of pre-school life.  I have developed a sympathetic understanding of the learning needs of young children both emotionally and practically.  With many years experience as a key worker I am confident in helping children settle in and learn through play, recognising and planning activities and learning methods suitable for each child’s age and stage of development.

In 2010 I completed a level 3 Diploma in Pre-school Practice (grade A) and I am a fully qualified paediatric first aider.  I have also attended various short courses including, behaviour management, observations into planning, safeguarding children, health and safety, food hygiene and fire marshal training.

When I have spare time I like to spend it with family and friends and particularly enjoy taking my children out for the day.  I also enjoy reading, watching EastEnders(!), going to the theatre and eating out.
